Fits anything with a 2.75″ OD column. Common size for floor models and larger bench models. Requires you to install a snap ring or key ring as shown. You supply your own snap ring tool. Not necessary to remove head stock to install. Has clamping mechanism allowing easy height adjustment. Keep drill bits, chuck key countersinks and center drill hand on the drill press. You may need a screwdriver to keep it from falling through and help align as you start the threaded handle into the nut. Only snug clamp. Excessive tightening is not necessary. Lots of grip on your 2.75″ OD column (69.85mm). What you are buying is the gray additive manufacturing central column clamp which holds the tray and related hardware. The tray is available at Walmart for approximately $6. It’s an 1/8 sheet baking pan. These come in both aluminum and anodized gold for about the same price. This kit is nicer than anything else available at any price. Please understand, it requires about 7 hours of machine time to make plus materials and hardware. Then I have to do several post processing steps including reaming holes, installing hardware and removing burrs from edges. And the shipping is included. 😉 Shown on a Delta DP220. Atlas 1010 Craftsman Drill Press Slow Speed Kit 2.000″ Column Bore
THIS IS NOT AN ENTIRE DRILL PRESS. IT IS A SLOW SPEED INTERMEDIATE PULLEY AND ADAPER ONLY. Drill press shown to illustrate fit and function. No belts included. Slow speed drive system for ATLAS 1010 and other 4 groove – 4L size belt 2″ id column drill presses. Shown on a Walker Turner 900 drill press in first photo (NO DRILL PRESS INCLUDED). Reduces RPM at chuck. Slower cutting speeds work better for metals. Larger diameter cutters such as hole saws, paddle and Forstner bits cut better with less heat when turned at proper speeds. Small diameter bits require higher speeds. This pulley while capable of cutting your final output speed in 1/2 is also capable of doubling it making bits under 1/8″ must less fragile. Add about $350 value to your vintage American iron. 1) Your machine MUST have a column with 2.000″~ bore (range .032″ under or over). (example measurement of different drill press shown in photo, caliper upside down). If you need a different size, please contact me. I have eBay listings for many sizes. 2) The column must be capable of protruding through the top of the head casting. (See caliper photo.) 3) Made for 4 groove pulley system requiring 1/2″ belts or 4L belts. (Converts your 4 speed into a 12 speed with both slower and faster speeds.) 4) Flipping the motor drive pulley over is required. All of them I have seen can be flipped without machining. I have not seen yours. 5) Adjusting the head height on the column is required to line up belts. 6) Your belt guard (if so equipped) bottom or base plate must not cover the drill press column. If it does, a hole must be cut approximately 2.25″ in diameter to reveal the tube opening. This item includes: Metal pulley loaded with ball bearings, pivot yoke, bronze pivot bushing and additive manufacturing column adapter machined to accept a bronze bushing. This item is made by me including sourced and modified parts. The drill press, belts and my hand are props used to show application of slow speed update kit and not included. Don’t buy this hoping it will fit. MEASURE THE BORE of your column. If your bore is different, please send me a photos of your drill press, caliper measurements and model of drill press. Atlas 15″ Drill Press Quill Guard Dust Cover
This item is one Quill Cover. Made of gray ABS plastic as shown on very top of sample drill press in photo 1. Drill press, chrome cover, Kennedy toolbox, belt guard or any other part of the drill press or any other background objects are photographic props and not included in this sale. Photo 3 shows two views of the single cover you are buying. The middle part in photo 3 is a factory original part and is not for sale or included. I show it so you can see my part matches for and design. Complete your drill press! Nearly all of the classic 15″ Atlas drill press’s out there are missing this dust/dirt cover. I lucked into one and have as near a reproduction in ABS plastic as possible. The hole in the top of your front guard should be 1.750″ ( 1-3/4″) for this cover to fit. It may fit other sizes of Atlas or other brands of drill presses. However I do not own those to measure. If your front pulley/belt guard has been painted many times, the hole could be filled with layers of paint, you may need to scrape some out to get a proper « smooth but snug » fit. The part should slip in with light pressure. Do not strike with any object. This item is made from ABS by additive manufacturing process in my home workshop. These are made one at a time by me on gear I maintain. ABS will not melt or get soft in a hot garage. Of course we’d all like an original chromed cast part but there are not enough of them to go around. Feel free to paint to suit. Red would look good matching the Atlas label or whatever color matches your machine. It’s printed in Gray/Silver ABS to minimize « standing out » and should be pleasing as is. 1) Your machine MUST have a belt/pulley guard with a 1.750″ (1 3/4″) bore. 2) Maximum height of quill above cover seat is 4 1/8″. (My 15″ stands about 3.800″ above the cover seat) 3) Cleaning paint out of your cover where this fits may be required. 4) If you have something different ??? Please let me know. Particularly if you have a sample. 😉 I would be happy to construct these for other vintage drill presses. This item includes: 1 ABS gray/silver quill cover.
